Two metros, two different roofs

We run out of one office on Starcrest Drive in San Antonio and we work north into Travis and Williamson County. Those are two different roofing markets and we quote them differently, because what wears a roof out in Bexar County is not quite what wears one out in Cedar Park.

San Antonio is older stock and heavier tree cover in the central neighborhoods, which slows sun damage and speeds up the debris and moisture problems in valleys. Push north and out of the trees and it flips: full sun on young subdivisions, granule loss first, brittle shingles second, and whole streets of builder grade roofs reaching the end of their run in the same couple of years.

Where the storms actually hit

Hail does not fall evenly across the region. Round Rock and the northern Williamson County line sit where storms crossing the plains still carry energy, and a single afternoon there can touch thousands of roofs. Bexar County gets hit often enough that most roofs here will see at least one real event, but the pattern is patchier.

That is why we do not quote a roof over the phone anywhere on this list. Two houses in the same subdivision can have completely different damage depending on which way the storm ran, and the only way to know is for somebody to get up there and photograph it.
